HMV Hornless No.3 in a mahogany case. The classic HMV bridging the gap between the horn gramophone and the table grand model. These gramophones were called hornless because the open horn was substituted with a horn folded down and into the case hiding it from view. This made for a much more compact machine. Examples of this model were taken into the trenches by the British soldiers in WW1 (no mean feat, these are heavy items and the records are not light either). The machine is fitted with the renowned Exhibition soundbox. An excellent machine from the premier manufacturer of the day.
