Are your digital cameras from the UK?

All our new cameras are UK spec and UK sourced. We do not sell grey imports. Used or refurbished cameras will clearly be stated as such.

What is the guarantee situation on product xxx?

Digital cameras come with a full UK guarantee unless otherwise stated. This is usually 12 months. The guarantee is held with the manufacturer and this should be your first port of call should the need arise. We will handle the guarantee if the company in question does not deal with customers directly.

Lamps and batteries are guaranteed working on the day of arrival.

Used cameras and lenses come with 3 months guarantee.

Collectable cameras and accessories are sold ‘as seen’. This is not to hide defects – we simply cannot guarantee products that have far exceeded their expected working life time of 10-20 years. If our description of an item is incorrect then exceptions will be made. Nearly any camera can be serviced for a small charge. Equally you’re welcome to tinker yourself.

Can you advise which lamp or belt I need?

While we do not have a database to match every projector to every lamp, we can try. Please e-mail us.

The lamp I need is not listed. Can you get it?

Sometimes. Please e-mail us.

How does the grading system work?

The grading system works as follows:

Cosmetic Condition

0 – new and boxed
1 – as new and never used, no manufacturers guarantee
2 – no signs of wear, as new but no box
3 – very minimal signs of wear
4 – signs of light use but no mis-use
5 – complete but showing signs of normal use or age
6 – complete, showing signs of heavy use
7 – restorable, minor parks broken or missing
8 – restorable, maybe some parts missing, refinishing required
9 – scrap or spares only

Functional Condition

A – as new with original guarantee
B – as new but with Camera Centre guarantee
C – everything okay, recently serviced and guaranteed
D – everything okay, recently serviced but no guarantee
E – everything okay, major functions tested
F – everything okay but not tested or serviced. Accuracy of shutter or meter cannot be guaranteed
G – functional but shutter or meter probably need adjusting
H – usable but not fully. Slow shutter speeds may stick or meter maynot work
J – not usable without repair
K – scrap or spares only

A camera we grade at 5F would, in our opinion, be a very good and clean example. A camera at 4F would be distinctly above average. As with any items of this age, our grades are just a guide and a degree of tinkering is expected from the new owner to keep the camera working.

Do you hold all items in stock?

Most items listed in the shop will be available straight away. However, we are also a High Street shop and stock control does not update in real time. If there is any significant delay regarding an item in your order (usually in excess of a week), you will be notified and given the choice to wait or cancel.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

UK orders are usually dispatched the next day. As long as Royal Mail do their job, turnaround is typically 2-3 days. International orders vary greatly. We always use airmail and to most locations this takes between 7 and 14 days. Some places get their post quicker than others.

I have won something from you on eBay. Can I combine postage with a shop purchase?

Yes in most cases. Please e-mail us.

I’ve received the wrong item / my item does not work?

Please e-mail us to arrange return. Do not just post it back!
